The ChallengeTurning a token launch into lasting community growth
Bitcoin Ordinals are a newer, more technical corner of the NFT market than Ethereum or Solana. The audience is smaller, buyers are more selective, and most collections launch with no community and fade within weeks.
When we co-founded DMT Tikabit and Noderocks, we set out to do things differently. We wanted collections with real utility and a community that would still be here long after mint day.
Our ApproachA coordinated launch strategy
Because we were building these projects ourselves, we could apply our own marketing playbook from day one: community first, product second, hype last.
- 01
Building the Ordinals Community Before Launch
We focused on finding and earning the attention of Bitcoin Ordinals collectors before minting began. By launch day, buyers already knew the projects and had a reason to show up.
- 02
DMT Tikabit: A Collection with Real Utility
DMT Tikabit was a collection of 1,600 ordinals. We paired it with something collectors could use: watch face apps for Android smartwatches and iPhone users. Giving the collection a working product beyond the artwork gave holders a clear reason to care.
- 1,600 Bitcoin Ordinals in the collection.
- Watch face apps for Android smartwatches and iPhones.
- 03
Noderocks: Launching Low and Building Value
We launched Noderocks at a floor price of $16. Starting accessible let a broad base of collectors join early, and community-led momentum drove the value from there to more than $400 per ordinal.
- 04
Community That Lasts
We kept both communities active after launch with consistent updates and engagement, so holders stayed involved rather than leaving after minting.
